The San Diego Wave earned one point Friday in National Women’s Soccer League play with another clean sheet in a scoreless tie on the road against Racing Louisville.

The wave leads the NWSL in clean sheets. Goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan made four saves on the night.

The shutout was the fourth straight shutout for the Wave (6-3-2, 20 points) on the road, marking the first team in NWSL history to go undefeated in four consecutive road matches.

Following the first half, where the Wave outshot Louisville 5-3, San Diego went into the second half on the attack. Midfielder Sierra Enge hit a shot in the 86th minute that deflected off a defender for Louisville (2-3-6, 12 points) and fell to the feet of forward Amirah Ali.

The second-half substitute then created the game’s best scoring opportunity when she hit the one-time shot on her right foot, firing a shot just over the goal.

“I was really pleased tonight,” said Wave head coach Casey Stoney. “I thought we played some really good stuff tonight — we just didn’t have the end product. I’m still immensely proud of the players. It’s been a really long couple of weeks.”

Forward Alex Morgan was on the bench out of precaution due to a tight calf.

San Diego returns to Snapdragon Stadium to host Angel City on Saturday, being called Rivalry Day. The match, set for 1 p.m., will be aired nationally on CBS.
