San Diego Democrats could win a supermajority on the County Board of Supervisors this year, but for now the race for District 5 is defined by the internal war between the GOP playing out between two North County mayors vying for the seat.
We talked about that race in the latest episode of the San Diego Politics Show, with the help of local political consultant and founder of The Ballot Book Mason Herron.
In the rest of the show, we broke down the early sense of backlash to Mayor Todd Gloria’s proposed budget. City Hall last year was defined by opposition to fees that city officials implemented to stave off cuts. Now, it is proposed cuts that are generating pushback.
We previously completed interviews with the three biggest Democratic candidates in the CA-48 congressional race. Check out the episodes with three-time candidate Ammar Campa-Najjar, Palm Springs investor Brander Riker and San Diego Councilmember Marni von Wilpert.
