The City of Oceanside has begun its redistricting process based on 2020 U.S. Census data, and plans four public hearings beginning Wednesday.

In addition, three more community outreach meetings will be hosted by the city – including one on Saturday – to take public input on the composition of council districts.

Zoom participation will be available for each outreach meeting, as well as translation services in Spanish.

The public hearings will take place in City Council chambers at 6 p.m. Wednesdays. After the coming week, the other three dates are Feb. 9, Feb. 23, and March 9.

The community outreach meetings continue at 11 a.m. Saturday at the El Corazon Senior Center, 3302 Senior Center Drive. The final two meetings take place:

  • Feb. 2, 6:00 p.m., Lincoln Middle School, 2000 California St.
  • Feb. 5, 11:00 a.m. – Melba Bishop Recreation Center, 5306 N. River Road.
