San Diego City Council candidate Vivian Moreno announced Thursday that former Councilmember Donna Frye has endorsed her candidacy for the South Bay district.

“Vivian is a tireless advocate for the community of District 8 and is dedicated to making life better for everyone,” said Fry in the endorsement.  “She is committed to public service, focused on getting the job done and will work to ensure all members of the community have a voice.”

Other endorsements for Moreno include current officeholder David Alvarez, District 9 Councilmember Georgette Gomez, Chula Vista Mayor Mary Salas, National City Councilmember Alejandra Sotelo-Solis and South Bay Union School District Trustee Barbara Elliott-Sanders.

Moreno was born and raised in the South Bay, and has worked as a council representative for Alvarez for the past eight years.

She faces Antonio Martinez, a San Ysidro school board member, in the November general election.
