A San Diego landscape architecture firm, KTU&A, has received a $15-million Navy contract for work with Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest.

The scope of the five-year Navy contract, according to the Department of Defense, includes:
- sustainable master planning
- preparing project planning documents
- geospatial information and service, and
- global positioning system services.
Most of the work is slated to take place in California, but some also will be performed throughout the southwest, including in Arizona and Nevada.
The Navy sought bids for the contract through the Federal Business Opportunities website. Six proposals were submitted.
According to KTU&A’s website, the firm has long worked on federal contracts, including projects at Camp Pendleton and Twentynine Palms.
The work, according to the firm, includes “more than 200 planning and military construction projects in the San Diego area, Southwest region, Southeast region, throughout the United States, and into Europe.”
The site also features a gallery of previous military projects.
