After a mild Tuesday, stronger Santa Ana winds are expected to develop midweek, with a Fire Weather Watch in effect from Wednesday evening through Thursday afternoon in the San Diego County Mountains and eastern valleys due to gusty winds and low humidity.

Winds are expected to reach 15-25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph, and humidity may drop as low as 11%, increasing the risk of rapid fire spread.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures Tuesday are forecast to reach 67 to 72 near the coast, 72 to 75 inland, 74 to 79 in the western valleys, 66 to 74 in the mountains and 80 to 83 in the desert.

Temperatures throughout the week are expected to remain below average, with a gradual warming trend bringing highs closer to seasonal norms by the weekend.

Areas of frost may form in wind-sheltered valleys and the High Desert on Thursday and Friday mornings, NWS said.

While winds are anticipated to decrease on Friday, an offshore flow will continue across interior Southern California, maintaining dry conditions. Residents are advised to stay alert and prepared for potential fire risks during this period.
