
The beach closure was lifted Saturday for the Silver Strand Shoreline after recent water quality samples met state health standards.
However, Tidelands Park in Coronado, Shelter Island, and the Children’s Pool in La Jolla were still under advisories Saturday, the San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Quality reported
People visiting those three beaches were advised that bacteria levels exceed state health standards and may cause illness.
The ocean shoreline from the border to the north end of Imperial Beach will remain closed until sampling confirms those areas are safe for water contact, health officials said.
San Diego-area beaches have been closed and reopened periodically in recent months because of sewage from Tijuana’s malfunctioning wastewater treatment system.
