The National Weather Service office in San Diego is forecasting light showers for Monday night that could last into Tuesday morning.
“A few light showers will be possible across most of San Diego County except the desert as early as this evening, and through Tuesday morning, with the best chances during the overnight hours,” the weather service said.
For coastal and valley areas, any accumulations are likely to be measured in the hundredths of an inch, according to the weather service.
The mountains of San Diego County may get a tenth of an inch or slightly more.
The chance of rain comes amid gusty northwest winds that could reach 45 mph overnight. A wind advisory for the mountains will be in effect from 4 p.m. Monday until11 a.m. on Tuesday.
The gusty winds will create hazardous conditions for small craft through Wednesday morning.
