We just got done with Halloween. Guess what folks – in some quarters that means Christmas is upon us. Yeah, I know, what about Thanksgiving?

Well, the revelry is starting early at the Old Globe, so what can you do? No use feeling grinchy about it.

Yes,  the famed green holiday anti-hero takes the stage beginning Sunday in the Old Globe’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” The show continues through Dec. 29 and the run includes another special event – a tree-lighting ceremony on Nov. 17, complete with cast performances.

Fleet Week continues this weekend with country musician Tim Hurley appearing at 5 p.m. Friday at Broadway Pier. The performance is free for active-duty service members. Public ship tours open on Friday and are available through Monday, when the Veteran’s Day Parade also kicks off. View the fun, while honoring service and sacrifice, at Harbor Drive and Ash Street at 10 a.m.

The Asian Film Festival, which continues through Nov. 16, features a number of curated sections, from “Asian-American Canon” and “Asia Pop” to “Masters” and “Discoveries.” Screenings take place throughout San Diego, including in Mission Valley, La Jolla, Mira Mesa and Balboa Park museums. General admission starts at $12, with packages available.

In addition, across the bridge Coronado hosts its own film festival through Monday. Possible awards season darling “Marriage Story,” starring Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver, opens the fest on Friday at the Village Theatre.

Summer may get all the hype, but the Bing Crosby Season at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club is nothing to sneeze at. Friday is Opening Day, with races set through Dec. 1, except for Thanksgiving. Admission starts at $6, with reserved seats from $4-8.

The Casa de Oro Alliance will host its fourth Fall Festival as part of San Diego County’s Live Well San Diego initiative. The free event, featuring games, live music and food trucks, will be at Spring Valley Academy, 3900 Conrad Drive, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
