Nearly 100 San Diego families gathered Sunday in La Jolla for a cardboard boat race.

The event, hosted by the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center, challenged families to design and build their own boats then test them out in an Olympic-size pool. Some boats sunk, while others floated but everybody seem to have fun.
