Construction crews working on the SR-15 Commuter Bikeway Project will close the northbound 15 Freeway connector ramp to eastbound and westbound Interstate 8 on Sunday from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Monday, according to Caltrans.

Motorists on southbound SR-15 will be detoured to the westbound Friars Road off-ramp and then merge onto the I-8 on-ramp.

The following closures will also be in place each night Sunday through Thursday 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., on the 15 Freeway between Adams Avenue and I-8:

  • Northbound on-ramp at Adams Avenue
  • Northbound off-ramp at Camino Del Rio South
  • One northbound lane on SR-15

Caltrans is urging travelers to allow extra time to reach their destinations or consider using alternate routes. The closures may affect San Diego Metropolitan Transit System routes as well.

During construction, nearby residents can expect intermittent lights and noise during the evening and into the early morning. Crews will work to minimize impacts to nearby businesses, residents, and commuters, according to Caltrans.
