An campaign video on YouTube that shows sophomore Luke Dzierzanowski with four women in bikinis is causing an uproar at San Diego State University.

Dzierzanowski was running for election as the Associated Students representative from the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts. The video shows him in a suit and tie and smoking a cigar while the women swim in a pool and jump on a trampoline.

A columnist for The Daily Aztec, the student newspaper, wrote that Dzierzanowski stood out “for being the only memorable candidate,” but “the video makes him memorable for all the wrong reasons as a degrading, attention-grabbing gimmick.”

Anthony Berteaux wrote that the video reinforces a “negative party school image” of San Diego State.

Memorable or not, the video didn’t help Dzierzanowski, who was beaten by three other candidates, two of them women.

He posted on Facebook Thursday that he “lost with a bang.”
