Authorities Monday publicly identified a 60-year-old man who was killed last week while riding his bicycle in the Black Mountain Ranch neighborhood.
James Osmus of San Diego was riding to the west in the 15700 block of Camino Del Sur shortly before 7 p.m. Friday when his two-wheeler collided with a Volkswagen sedan traveling in the same direction, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office.
San Diego Police Department officers said for unknown reasons, the Volkswagen driver suddenly veered into the bike lane and collided with Osmus.
Despite lifesaving attempts on the part of the involved motorist and paramedics, Osmus died at the scene of the accident, authorities reported.
