Firefighters battled an early morning residential structure fire apparently started by a Tesla parked in a Carmel Valley garage Sunday.
Units were dispatched at 4:20 a.m. to 11358 Nahama Lane, near the intersection of Carriage Run Drive, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
The Tesla and garage were destroyed, and the fire extended to a tree outside and up the wall to the second story, filling the house with smoke, according to OnScene.TV.
The family made it out safely with their pets, as did the neighbors, OnScene.TV reported.
A total of 35 personnel were assigned to the fire including one truck, one medic and four engines, officials said. A fire investigator was also sent to the site.
No injuries were immediately reported.
