An apparently drunk man driving a Mercedes sedan was arrested Saturday morning after a hit-and-run crash injured a male pedestrian in downtown San Diego.
San Diego Police said the Mercedes hit a parked car on Fifth Avenue, then fled the scene, and struck a 24 year-old man who was crossing at the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Cedar Street.
The driver drove away from the second collision, parked his car on Eighth Avenue and then fled on foot before being apprehended by police.
Steven Ross, 29, was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and DUI causing an injury.
The victim, who was not immediately identified, suffered an open fracture to his left tibia/fibula. He was transported to a local hospital where his injuries were determined not to be life threatening.
