Police arrested a 35-year-old male suspect Saturday after he allegedly robbed a currency exchange in Teralta West.
The suspect, said to be wearing a ski mask and armed with a handgun, allegedly demanded money from employees at the American Gold Exchange store, 4109 El Cajon Blvd., just after 5 p.m. They complied, providing the suspect with an undisclosed amount of cash, San Diego police said.
The man allegedly fled the store as officers were arriving. A short foot chase ensued and officers were able to take him into custody.
The suspect later was arrested on suspicion of committing the robbery. A gun and cash were recovered.
