Authorities Wednesday publicly identified a man who was fatally injured last week when a car driven by a DUI suspect hit him at a Colina Del Sol-area intersection.
The eastbound vehicle struck Jairo Lazaro-Galicia, 45, as he was trying to cross El Cajon Boulevard at 50th Street shortly after at 9 p.m. Thursday, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Paramedics took to Lazaro-Galicia, whose community of residence remains unknown, to Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, the agency reported.
The 20-year-old motorist involved in the traffic fatality was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, police said. His name has not been released.
