A man was injured Sunday after his vehicle went up a right shoulder embankment, hit a large sign and flipped onto a stretch of freeway in Serra Mesa Sunday.
Units were dispatched around 5:40 a.m. and arrived a few minutes later to southbound Interstate 805 near the intersection of Murray Ridge Road, according to fire officials and OnScene.TV.
Firefighters pulled the victim from the vehicle and he was rushed to a hospital with major injuries, OnScene.TV reported.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
