A 70-year-old man was hospitalized in stable condition after being wounded in his legs Thursday night during a drive-by shooting in the Mountain View neighborhood.
San Diego Police officers were called at 8:43 p.m. to the 3600 block of Gilmore Street, where they found the victim suffering from six gunshot wounds to his legs, Officer Robert Buttle said.
Buttle said the man was standing outside when a dark colored SUV drove by and a gunman opened fire.
The victim was struck four times in one leg and twice in the other. He was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation is in its preliminary stages and there was no immediate suspect description.
