A man is in the hospital Thursday after being wounded in a drive-by shooting in Lemon Grove.

Deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff‘s Rancho San Diego Station responded to a radio call of a shooting around 6:20 p.m. Wednesday that occurred in front of an Albertsons store at 7090 Broadway, said Sgt. Patrick Fox.

Upon their arrival, deputies found the victim, who they say is a transient, on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. An active Marine who was in the area provided first aid to the victim, Fox said.

Fox said during an investigation of the shooting authorities learned the victim had apparently been shot from a passing vehicle.

The victim was taken to a hospital and is stable condition.

Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to contact Fox at 619-660-7029 or Patrick.Fox@sdsheriff.org.
