Firefighters extinguished a brush fire Wednesday evening that burned less than an acre off northbound Interstate 805 in Chula Vista.
The fire was first reported about 8 p.m. near Bonita Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Crews from the Chula Vista, National City and San Diego fire departments responded and put out the fire, the National City Fire Department reported.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation but suspected of starting in a homeless encampment.
