Two young people were killed late Saturday morning in a single-vehicle rollover on state Route 78 near the Anza Borrego State Park, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at 10:39 a.m. near mile marker 23 of the rural highway near the sprawling desert park.

According to the CHP traffic website, two juveniles were in the vehicle, but no further details about the accident were immediately available.

The accident remains under investigation by the CHP and local law enforcement authorities.
