It took engine crews about 10 minutes Tuesday to subdue an Allied Gardens house fire, authorities reported.

The non-injury blaze in the 5000 block of Orcutt Avenue erupted for unknown reasons shortly after 9:30 a.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

The single-family home was unoccupied when the flames began spreading through it, city spokesman Jose Ysea said.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
