Sheriff’s deputies found a car wrapped around a light pole in Vista on, with a 19-year-old man trapped inside Saturday, deputies said.

Firefighters had to free the victim before paramedics took him to Palomar Medical Center with serious but not critical injuries.

They cut through the car and pulled the man out, said deputies. He was then taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries that were not deemed life-threatening. The single-vehicle crash, in the 100 block of East Bobier Drive, was reported at about 9:20 p.m. Saturday, according to Deputy Jennifer Albright.

Deputies did not release the victim’s name or how the crash occurred. No one else was injured in the collision. No further information was currently available.
