A man walked into a 7-Eleven store in San Ysidro this Sunday morning, threatened the clerk and stole a handful of cash before fleeing, a police officer said.

It happened at the 7-Eleven store at 191 W. San Ysidro Blvd. about 3:10 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer Robert Heims.

The robber went behind the counter with his hand in his hoodie, simulating a gun, and demanded cash from the clerk, Heims said. The clerk opened the drawer and the robber scooped up some cash and left the store.

It appears the robber may have been one of a trio of thieves who robbed an Arco station a few minutes earlier in that same neighborhood.

This robber was described as Hispanic, wearing a black hoodie, black hat and plaid pajama bottoms, like one of the robbers at the Arco station, according to Heims.

Anyone with information on this crime was asked to call the SDPD at (619) 531-2000. All tips can be made anonymously.
