Authorities tTuesday released the name of a 28-year-old man who was fatally injured in a motor-scooter accident at a Bankers Hill intersection.
Corey Batz of San Diego was riding to the east up a steep incline on West Laurel Street about 11 p.m. Monday when his two-wheeler crashed into the back of a Nissan Xterra whose driver had stopped for a red light at First Avenue, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office.
Paramedics took Batz to Scripps Mercy Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The driver of the SUV was treated for minor injuries, police said.
