Two former Oceanside residents convicted in the 2013 gang-related stabbing of a man and the killing of another were each sentenced Wednesday to lengthy prison terms.

David Tua, 32, was sentenced to 75 years to life behind bars, and Roland Isaac Seau, 25, to 102 years to life behind bars.

Investigators said Randy Lozano was stabbed because he was in the wrong neighborhood and Louigie Bermas was killed because he witnessed Lozano getting attacked.

Both defendants were convicted of attempted murder for stabbing Lozano and murder for the beating and stabbing death of the 21-year-old Bermas. Seau was convicted of first-degree murder and Tua was convicted of second-degree murder in Bermas’ death.

Tua and Seau were already in custody for stabbing Lozano in the early morning hours of Aug. 14, 2013, when they were charged two months later with Bermas’ murder.

Investigators received multiple corroborating leads that indicated the attempt on Lozano’s life was somehow connected to the death of Bermas, whose body was found about a block away that same morning.

Police said Lozano had been a member of a Fallbrook gang, but Bermas was not affiliated with any gang.
