A fugitive missing since June 15 was located in Tijuana and turned over the San Diego Sheriff‘s deputies Saturday evening.
Jesse Lozano Sr., who was serving a three-year sentence for possession of a controlled substance, escaped from the La Cima Conservation Camp, where inmates assist with fire prevention and restoration projects.
The San Diego Regional Fugitive Task Force was contacted, and after several weeks of surveillance and interviews, evidence led detectives to Tijuana.
The Policía Estatal Preventiva, Baja California’s state police, apprehended Lozano, who surrendered without incident and was transported to the San Ysidro port of entry. He was booked into San Diego Central Jail.
