A 1-year-old boy suspected of being taken by his father who then allegedly stabbed the boyfriend of his former girlfriend at her San Pedro home has been found in Tijuana.

Jayden Nathaniel Santiago, the subject of an Amber Alert, was located in Tijuana Monday night by the U.S. Marshals Service with his father, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Drake Madison said.

Detectives from the Harbor Division are en route, Madison said.

The boy was taken by his 37-year-old father, Giovanny Santiago-Enriquez, following the 1:30 a.m. stabbing, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Santiago-Enriquez allegedly entered the former girlfriend’s home in the 500 block of West 15th Street through an unlocked front door, went into her bedroom and stabbed her new boyfriend several times, the LAPD reported.

The victim was seriously injured.

The former girlfriend suffered minor injuries trying to prevent Santiago-Enriquez from stabbing her boyfriend. He then fled, throwing the knife he had used on the boyfriend out of his car before fleeing, police said.

Santiago-Enriquez next went to his home in Long Beach before fleeing with his son, police said.

Santiago-Enriquez and his ex-girlfriend shared custody of the child.
