A 42-year-old San Diego man was shot and killed early Sunday in the Jamacha neighborhood near Lemon Grove, and police were on the lookout for the gunman and an accomplice.
Daniel Coriz was found lying outside a residence at 1127 Koe St. with a single gunshot wound to his upper torso, San Diego police Lt. Brent Williams said. Coriz died at the scene.
Officers were dispatched to the area shortly after midnight on a report of shots fired.
Williams said detectives’ preliminary investigation revealed Coriz was approached by two men in black hooded sweatshirts, black pants and black bandanas over their faces — one of whom fired several rounds. One shot struck the victim.
Detectives worked this morning to follow up leads at the scene, and no arrests had been made in connection with the fatal shooting, according to Williams.
Williams asked anyone with information on the shooting to call the Homicide Unit at (619) 531-2293, or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
