San Diego County Credit Union is supporting National Financial Awareness Day beginning on Aug. 14.
Also, throughout the month, SDCCU is presenting weekly educational webinars focused on financial awareness for various stages of life as part of SDCCU’s Financial Wellness Wednesdays. Topics include: LPL Financial Outlook 2025, Teaching Kids about Money Matters, Long-Term Care, and 10 Steps to Financial Freedom.
“We’re proud to support National Financial Awareness Day by helping to educate our community,” said Teresa Campbell, SDCCU president and CEO. “Strong financial principles are valuable at every stage of life, no matter your age or financial situation. As your needs evolve, so do the practices of sound financial literacy. SDCCU is committed to providing these resources and helping support financial well-being today and into the future.”
According to Forbes, financial literacy in the U.S. has dropped to 48%, with many Americans only having basic financial education knowledge, but not necessarily the financial acumen to apply that information and the least confidence when comprehending financial risk.
National Financial Awareness Day aims to bring awareness to learning about finances and building financial stability in preparation for a successful financial future.
The webinars offered are part of Financial Wellness Wednesdays, an ongoing program hosted by SDCCU to help provide the community access to free financial wellness information.
