San Diego-based Jack in the Box on Monday introduced what it describes as the fast food industry’s first 100 percent ribeye burger.
“We thrive on challenging convention,” said Iwona Alter, the company’s chief marketing officer. “While many of our competitors are narrowing menus or following the movement toward craft, we’re focused on giving our customers what they want, when they want it.”
The new sandwich is available in two ways:
- “All American Ribeye” with red onion, tomato, Provolone cheese, mayonnaise and spring mix lettuce on a potato bun.
- “Havarti & Grilled Onion Ribeye” with tomato, grilled onions, mayonnaise, Havarti cheese and a red wine glaze sauce on a potato bun.
The company said the new ribeye burger marks the beginning of an “onslaught of innovative new menu items” this year.
Jack in the Box operates more than 2,200 restaurants in 21 states and Guam.
