Celebrate diversity and the LGBT community with the annual San Diego Pride Parade and Festival this weekend.
The event, which takes place Friday through Sunday, spans from Hillcrest to Balboa Park.
Although businesses and organizations will celebrate throughout the weekend, the major events include a rally, parade, block party and music festival.
To start the weekend, a rally will be held at 6 p.m. at the Hillcrest Pride Flag on University Avenue. The rally will include a lineup of guest speakers and recognize those who have contributed to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community. The night is complete with a block party across University Avenue that runs through 11 p.m.
The parade kicks off at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hillcrest Pride Flag on University Avenue and heads toward Balboa Park.
The major attraction of the weekend is the music festival, which takes place at Balboa Park. The event includes more than 200 bands, musicians and dancers across multiple stages. The festival also includes vendor booths, an art exhibit and food.
