Rock musician Eric Clapton called the Chicago blues guitarist “by far without a doubt the best guitar player alive … He really changed the course of rock and roll blues.” Guy influenced artists as diverse as Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Guy, 78, was born in rural Louisiana and moved to Chicago in 1957, where he began recording. He has received six Grammy awards and was recognized with a National Medal of Arts in 2003.
