San Diego Police investigated a potential threat at the San Diego Zoo Sunday, but officers found no evidence of danger.
The department said in a statement that officers received a call regarding the threat at 1:10 p.m. Department units already working at the zoo responded alongside additional officers.
Police searched the area and reviewed surveillance footage for a suspect, but nothing suspicious was found.
In a separate statement online, the zoo said police “determined [the threat] was a hoax, and there is no active threat to guests at this time.”
Details about the type of threat were not immediately available.
Police noted that they maintain a “continual presence” at the venue.
