UC San Diego women’s soccer team defeated Grand Canyon 1-0 in an exhibition match Tuesday morning at Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center.
No official statistics were kept for the match, which was played in front of under 100 spectators. The only goal was scored from Triton senior Raquel Kalpakoff in the 19th minute. Junior Lindsey Park assisted Kalpakoff on the match’s lone goal.
The two teams played three 30-minute periods in their annual preseason meeting.
The Tritons don’t have to wait long for their season to start. Their 2024 campaign starts on the road in the Bay Area, when they visit Cal on August 15, then the Tritons play at San Francisco on August 18.
