San Diego is well represented in the 2024 Summer Olympics, with over 30 athletes competing in the games having ties to the San Diego area.

From competing in the Olympics for the first time, to defending a gold medal, southern California has plenty of athletes on display.

California as a whole has had one silver medal finish, as well as two bronze medal finishes.

Among the star-studded athletes competing, a highlight includes San Diego State University alumni Xander Schauffele, who is currently in second place after the first round of golf.
