The Padres have acquired relief pitcher Tanner Scott from the Miami Marlins in a trade-deadline-day swap, according to reports

The Marlins get prospects – left-hander Robby Snelling, right-hander Adam Mazur, infielder Graham Pauley, and infielder Jay Beshears – for the left-handed reliever The Padres are also acquiring right-hander Brian Hoeing in the six-player deal.

Scott was an All-Star for the Marlins this season, and is one of many players to leave Miami via trade.

The left-hander has a 1.18 ERA this season, striking out 53 batters in 45.2 innings. Scott has also held opposing hitters to a .127 batting average this season.

After already adding reliever Jason Adam from the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday, the Padres now have another arm to their bullpen in hopes of making a playoff push in the season’s final two months.

The Marlins are getting San Diego’s #2 (Snelling), #4 (Mazur), #5 (Pauley) and #24 (Beshears) ranked prospect in the trade, according to mlb.com’s prospect rankings.

Snelling has a 6.01 ERA in 73.1 minor league innings this season. Mazur has seen time at the big league level this season with a 7.49 ERA in 33.2 innings for the Padres. Pauley has a .125 average in 32 at bats for the Padres this season.
