San Diego State basketball will open and close its 18-game Mountain West conference schedule at home.

They have an even split of home and away games, nine each, and will play eight opponents twice and two opponents once.

The schedule, released last week, will shift as broadcasters CBS Sports and Fox Sports select contests to highlight, with game times to be determined.

After their Dec. 28 MW-opener at Viejas Arena against Air Force, the Aztecs travel for two straight games, facing UNLV on New Year’s Eve and Wyoming on Jan. 7.

The remainder of the team’s MW schedule:

  • Jan. 10 – vs. Nevada
  • Jan. 14 – vs. New Mexico
  • Jan. 17 – at Colorado State
  • Jan. 21 – at Air Force
  • Jan. 24 – vs. Utah State
  • Jan. 28 – vs. San Jose State
  • Jan. 31 – at Nevada
  • Feb. 4 – vs. Boise State
  • Feb. 7 – at Utah State
  • Feb 11 – vs. UNLV
  • Feb. 14 – at Fresno State
  • Feb. 21 – vs. Colorado State
  • Feb. 25 – at New Mexico
  • Feb. 28 – at Boise State
  • March 4 – vs. Wyoming

SDSU’s complete non-conference schedule will be announced at a later date. The college basketball season opens in early November.

San Diego State returns four fifth-year seniors, including Matt Bradley and Nathan Mensah, and most of the starting line up from a team that went 23-9 last year.

The Aztecs fell in the championship game of the Mountain West tournament, and though they made the NCAA tournament, they were bounced in the first round for the second straight season.
