House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi will join lawmakers from her party in holding a Southern California town hall Wednesday as part of the “Repeal the TrumpTax Tour.”
The town hall is hosted in partnership with Health Access California and is the latest event on a nationwide tour to “shine a light on Republican tax breaks for millionaires, billionaires and wealthy corporations at the expense of working families,” according to an event notice.
Pelosi recently hosted similar town hall events in Phoenix, Chicago, Boca Raton, Houston, San Antonio and Cambridge.
Free and open to the public, the town hall will also feature Rep. Nanette Barragán (D-CA); Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA); Donna Norton, deputy director of Moms Rising; Edward D. Kleinbard, Robert C. Packard Trustee Chair in Law, USC Gould School of Law; and Nicole Gill, Tax March executive director.
The April 4 event will begin at 11 a.m. inside the Veterans Memorial Building Rotunda Room, 4117 Overland Ave., Culver City.
After Wednesday, the 100-day tour will continue hosting events around the country, featuring senators, congressional representatives, local elected officials, and “people affected by the law.” The tour will conclude with 100 nationwide events the weekend of April 14 to mark the one-year anniversary of the Tax March, according to organizers.
