House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Monday in San Diego that a Hillary Clinton victory is a “foregone conclusion,” but only if Democrats turn out to vote on Nov. 8.
“Hillary Clinton’s victory is such a foregone conclusion that maybe people might not turn out to vote,” warned the Congresswoman from San Francisco.
“We must turn out to vote,” she said. “A big vote for Hillary Clinton is the best antidote for the poison the Republicans are spewing.”
Pelosi spoke at a morning press conference at San Diego County Democratic headquarters, where she appeared with volunteers and local Democratic candidates.
She was joined by Rep. Susan Davis, Rep. Scott Peters, Congressional candidate Doug Applegate and San Diego City Attorney candidate Mara Elliott.
Davis predicted the Democrats would pick up around 20 seats in the House of Representatives. That’s not enough for a Democratic majority, she said, but enough to once again pass bi-partisan legislation.
Peters also looked forward to picking up seats, saying, “It’s time to give President Clinton a Congress she can work with.”
