The North County Transit District is preparing for spring and summer nights by adding later trains and special service to Padres games, while reminding riders to “keep it civil” with a special advertising campaign.

Passengers on COASTER and SPRINTER trains and BREEZE buses will see a series of lighthearted posters covering alcohol, loud music, profanity and disorderly conduct.

The transit district will back up the civility campaign with an increased security presence, especially during Padres home games.

“Our motivation is to provide a safe ad comfortable experience for all of our passengers,” said Jaime Becerra, NCTD’s chief of security.

“We want to remind folks that what may be fun to them might be disturbing or inappropriate behavior to others. The trains are essentially small, enclosed spaces where the more considerate we are of our fellow passengers the better it is for everyone.”

The new schedule begins April 7 and continues through Oct. 5 and can be downloaded from the district’s website.
