Navy Capt. Howard C. Warner will relinquish command of Naval Base Point Loma during a ceremony at 10 a.m. Friday, according to base officials.

His successor will be Capt. Brien W. Dickson, who previously served as deputy commander for training on the staff of Commander Submarine Squadron Eleven in San Diego, according to the Navy.

The event will be held at the base’s USS Roncador submarine memorial.

Warner is retiring from the Navy after 28 years of service, according to the Navy’s Public Affairs Office.
