Overview: Cleaning up El Cerrito
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a focus on El Cajon Boulevard and adjacent streets.
If you want to get your hands a little dirty while doing something good in the process, head out this Saturday morning for the El Cerrito Community Cleanup Day.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a focus on El Cajon Boulevard and adjacent streets. It kicks off at The Hometown Wave, 5549 El Cajon Blvd.
The focus area for the cleanup was chosen by several people living in the El Cerrito community.
“Some of the goals of these cleanups are to beautify our community, bring residents and community members together and promote a clean, safe and healthy San Diego,” organizer Leslie Burton said. Asked if those organizing the event are still seeking volunteers, Burton noted, “Always, the more the merrier.”
Organizers will provide gloves, trash bags and some tools. Those participating are welcome to bring their own items if they have them. Organizers will have some safety vests on hand.
Donuts, coffee and water will be provided to participants before the cleanup begins.
Asked if future cleanups are planned for the remainder of 2025, Burton stated, “Not yet, but depending on how this one goes, we will likely do another before the end of the year.”
