Another day of heavy coastal fog is likely to cause delays for travelers at San Diego International Airport.

“Areas of dense fog with visibility less than one-quarter mile will occur at times through mid-morning,” the National Weather Service said on Saturday morning.

The agency said the airport area “remains solidly within the fog deck”, and the airport issued a traveler alert.

The airport website showed multiple delayed and canceled flights on Saturday morning and urged travelers to check before their flight.

The Weather Service said that over the weekend “improvements in visibility will
occur along the coast, with foggiest conditions becoming more  confined to the adjacent coastal valleys.”

Highs Saturday were forecast to be 61 to 66 near the coast, 68 inland, around 70 in the
western valleys, 69 to 74 near the foothills, 65 to 72 in the mountains and 77 to 81 in the deserts.
