All areas of San Diego County except the coast are under National Weather Service heat advisories or warnings Saturday because of a high-pressure system over the Four Corners region of the Southwest.
“High temperatures today will be around 4 to 7 degrees above normal with moderate heat risk across most of the region, with the exception of the higher elevation mountains and the coast,” the weather service said in its morning forecast.
Highs on Saturday are expected to be 75 to 80 near the coast, 84 to 89 inland, 88 to 93 in the western valleys, 96 to 101 near the foothills, 93 to 102 in the mountains and 112 to 115 in the deserts.
There is a slight chance of thunderstorms over the mountains.
The heat is expected to gradually increase over the weekend, with highs of 100 to 108 in the inland valleys by Monday.
