A minor spring storm moved on from San Diego County Sunday night after bringing more showers and possible thunderstorms to the area, forecasters said.
“There is a chance for light showers for late tonight into Tuesday morning. Otherwise drier
and warmer through the middle of the week with weakening winds,” the National Weather Service said.
Highs Monday will be around 64 along the coast and in the valleys, 56 to 61 near the
foothills, 50 to 58 in the mountains and 71 to 75 in the deserts.
Gusty winds will continue, especially in the mountains and deserts as remnants of the storm move through.
A winter-storm warning for the mountains ended at 11 p.m. Sunday. Total snow accumulations were predicted to be 2-8 inches between 5,000-5,500 feet, 8-12 inches above 5,500 feet, with a trace of snow possible down to 4,500 feet.
A high-surf advisory remains in effect until noon on Monday, with large, breaking waves of 5 to 8 feet and occasional sets up to 10 feet.
The weather service said Wednesday through Friday would mostly likely be dry, but followed by another storm that will bring more rain and mountain snow next weekend.
“For Friday night through Monday, a slow moving low pressure system will bring periods of precipitation with the most likely time for heavier precipitation on Saturday and Sunday,” the weather service said.
