Revive Our Roots, which takes place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, is a collaborative effort between the two local nonprofits known for their work in building relationships, nourishing community, raising awareness, and providing educational programming in support of local sustainable agriculture, food justice and inspiring change for future generations, organizers said.
“There is a huge opportunity to increase awareness about our shared values and missions through partnering with like-minded organizations like Coastal Roots,” says Jessica Waite, BGF board president, restaurateur, and local food advocate. “We are so excited to create an experience where our community can engage with local educators while enjoying the amazing locally focused food and beverage that San Diego is known for.”
The special event will feature creations from San Diego’s top chefs and various interactive education at the Encinitas-based Coastal Roots Farm.
“Coastal Roots Farm is so honored to be partnering with Berry Good Food on this event to support education around healthy food systems,” said Javier Guerrero, Executive Director of Coastal Roots Farm. “We share very similar values and commitment to teach people about sustainable agriculture and provide hands-on learning experiences on how to grow food and nourish the community.
The event is $95 per person with proceeds benefitting both organizations.
