Construction crews will close freeway connectors along Interstate 8, Interstate 15, and state Route 163 late nights in the coming week for overhead sign replacements, according to Caltrans.

The work is part of a county-wide project to install self-reflective signs that use headlights from highway vehicles for illumination. The new signs will enhance nighttime visibility and replace signs requiring light fixtures .

The northbound I-15 connector to state Route 56/Ted Williams Parkway will be closed from 11:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Monday and Tuesday.

The following connectors will be closed for a minimum of two hours between 11:30 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday:

  • westbound I-8 to southbound I-5,
  • northbound I-15 to eastbound I-8,
  • southbound I-15 to eastbound I-8, and
  • northbound SR-163 to westbound I-8.

Crews will close one connector at a time and will change locations as work is completed. Warning signs will be posted ahead of the closures to alert motorists.
