A sea breeze helped keep the 44th annual Pride Parade in Hillcrest bearable amid warm and humid weather as hundreds of thousands of spectators took part in the joyful show.
“When we as San Diegans come together to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and to see the energy, the smiles on people’s faces — all walks of life — this is one of our best days in the city,” Faulconer said. “And I just absolutely love the energy and the enthusiasm.”
Freebies flowed as the 3 1/2-hour parade again saw many commercial floats. Many watched on TV at air-conditioned watch parties. (KUSI posted video online, and ABC affiliate KGTV streamed live on Facebook.)
Some of our favorite moments:
A hug for Officer Verduzco
They aren’t ‘It’
Blowing Dr. Bronner’s Magic Foam
Only has eyelashes for you
A Hillcrest flag-waver
Reaching for thrown beads
Pride of the San Diego Padres
A smiling Pride fan
No shortage of El Tricolores pride
Beach balls aren’t banned
And the best of the rest
